Candle Signs: What to Record Before Interpretation

Candle signs begin with what the candle actually did. A high flame, a ring of wax or smoke on the glass is an observation. It is not proof of a curse, a person's feelings or a spell succeeding. The wick, the wax and the air belong in the account before any meaning.
I keep this index for that first look. Choose the detail you saw, then read the ordinary causes beside it. Do not choose the most frightening explanation because it feels important. A plain burn can stay a plain burn. You do not need to find a warning inside every candle.
What should you record before interpreting a candle?
Record the candle, its surroundings and the change you noticed. Write whether it was in a jar or standing in a holder. Note an open window, nearby air movement and anything added to the wax. Say when the sign appeared. The beginning of a burn and its end are different observations.
Keep description separate from fear. "The flame leaned when the door opened" tells more than "someone interfered with me." "Wax remained on one side" is clearer than "the work failed." I can consider a clear description. A conclusion written in place of the details gives little to examine.
What can a flame tell you?
A flame tells you how the candle is burning before it tells you anything symbolic. Height, movement and steadiness can change with the wick, air and fuel. If the flame seems unsafe, put the candle out. Do not keep it burning to obtain a more satisfying answer.

How do you read wax and smoke together?
Read wax and smoke as parts of the same burn. A tunnel in the wax and soot on a jar need their own practical explanation. The candle's construction, wick, burning conditions and added materials matter. A shape in cooled wax does not identify a person or establish what they did.
The wax tunneling page starts with that specific pattern. Write what remained before naming a shape. If a mark reminds you of a door or a face, say it reminded you. That leaves room to reflect without turning resemblance into evidence.
Does candle colour change the meaning?
Colour can describe the intention you brought to the candle. It cannot guarantee what follows. A red candle does not prove love has returned. A black candle does not prove something harmful was present. A clean white candle does not certify that every problem in a home has gone.

When should interpretation stop?
Interpretation stops when continuing would put the home at risk. Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children, animals and things that can catch fire. Do not add loose herbs or oils to create a sign. More smoke is not more information.
Read ritual material safety before changing what you use. Repeating a burn because the first answer displeased you can become a way of feeding fear. Stop when you need to stop. No candle requires you to accuse someone or buy another working.

Does a moving flame mean someone is working against me?
A moving flame does not establish that another person is working against you. Air movement and the candle itself can change a flame. Describe those conditions first. I will not turn one movement into an accusation, even when the question behind it is upsetting.
Is an unusual wax shape a definite message?
An unusual wax shape is something you noticed, not a definite message. Cooling wax can resemble many things. Write the shape and the feeling it brought before choosing a meaning. Keep the ordinary burn in view. Resemblance alone cannot prove an event or identify a person.
Should I repeat the candle until it burns cleanly?
You do not need to repeat a candle until it gives the sign you want. First consider why it burned that way and whether continuing is safe. A clean burn cannot promise success. A difficult burn does not require another purchase or a longer working.
