What It Can Point To
- Keep paper or a voice recorder beside the bed so you do not have to move far before writing.
- Record the feeling, one image, and the last scene before trying to explain the dream.
- Use present tense and simple details. A few honest words are better than a story invented later.
- Let some dreams remain ordinary. Not every dream needs interpretation.
Details That Change the Meaning
Waking during the nightMake a brief note and return to sleep instead of turning the practice into work.
No imagesRecord the body feeling, mood, or one word that remains.
Repeated dreamCompare notes across days and look for changes in action or feeling.
Disturbing dreamGround yourself in the room and your present safety before interpreting anything.
Before You Decide
Read the ordinary cause first. Then read the pattern. If you skip the ordinary cause, you will scare yourself and call it intuition. I do not work that way.
Do not sacrifice sleep or treat dream recall as evidence of a medical, spiritual, or relationship fact. If poor sleep or nightmares persist, get qualified help.
Better Questions
- What was the first feeling I had on waking?
- What detail remains after I write the scene?
- What ordinary event may have supplied the dream's material?
